Gallery 2.0b
See it in action
63kb, requires PHP4+
INSTALLATION
  1. Copy the _trpGallery folder and index.php to your directory of folders full of images, files, links, and more folders
  2. Make sure the ‘resized’ and ‘meta’ folders inside _trpGallery are chmod’ed to 777, otherwise thumbnails will be broken
  3. Edit the settings.php values to suit your needs
  4. Enjoy!
TIPS
  • Once your files are uploaded, the first time you hit the directory in thumb mode the thumbnails will be created, and you can see them load slowly as it is done
  • Note, files placed at the top directory are hidden, so have only directories and .url/.webloc files at the top level
  • Also, note any files or folders that start with a ‘_’ will be hidden by gallery, and can only be accessed by typing the path or name directly
  • When viewing contents of any folder, you can use the icons on the top right to toggle between thumbnail, alphabetical list, and list sorted by last updated
  • Gallery only creates the thumbnails once for each path/filename, so to update a file, you first need to purge that path’s thumbnails cache by adding a &redo to the url eg... http://localhost/gallery/?path=mockups&redo ... next time you hit that path, the thumnbnails will be recreated
  • ?show=all will display all the thumbs under the current paths, this is handy after a ?redo at the root
  • ?show=large will show all large images from the current path
  • The [ and ] keys will navigate to the next and previous image in large image view (when you see the <- -> arrows)
  • You can upload Win IE and Win Firefox .url and/or Firefox Mac .webloc files to make links in the gallery to other sites. Note: you must use Firefox Mac to make .webloc files, Safari .webloc’s don’t work =(
  • To add a comment to a file, go to list view, or full image view on a image, and click the ‘...’, you can edit this on page (ajax), note the ui is still a little buggy, and doesn’t work in Firefox yet
  • Empty folders are dimed out, so you dont have to bother clicking
  • If you want to use perlmagick, you have to chmod perlmagick.cgi to 755
